These charming and impressve country houses date from the 18th and 19th centuries, one built for a local marchesa and complete with its own chapel. They are available for rental independently or together, making them the perfect rural idyll for a large groups of friends or family.
Both sit in acres of unspoilt meadow and woodland where the only noises to be heard are of birdsong and ciccadas. Stunning mountain views dominate making walks around the property a dreamy pleasure.
Wide terraces with outdoor dining tables provide ample space for outdoor dining and relaxing. The outdoor barbecue is popular and the pool is a short scamper down the garden path. Sunloungers are provided upon which you can soak up the sun or relax underneath the shade giving parasols.
Thirty acres of private park and woodland surround Case Fiona, giving the two properties complete privacy and an intimacy with the flora and fauna that makes picnics or strolls along nearby paths and meadows an irresistible pleasure!
This unique Marche villa is found at the confines of the Monti Sibillini National Park, a vast park of almost 2 million acres, making it the third biggest in Italy. Landscapes vary enormously from Alpine meadows and sheer rocky crags to sweet and gentle river valleys. And wonderful walks begin from your doorstep among the woodlands all around.
There are many paths throughout the area, so pop into one of the park's information centres found in the towns and villages throughout the area for a map or guidebook. Walks vary from an hour to the nine day Grande Anello which takes in areas with a truly alpine character, like Monte Bove, whose sheer north face offers climbing for mountaineers.
Case Fiona is ten minutes drive from Sarnano, a town of 4,000 inhabitants and an important gateway to the Sibillini Mountains. Here you can relax at the bars and ice-cream parlours and enjoy an aperitivo before ambling up to the town's medieval piazza for some breathtaking views.
Sarnano is a wonderful summer retreat offering spa baths, still revered for their beautifying and medicinal powers. The town also provides a base to the many skiers that flock to the park's pistes in the winter months. And the town has plenty of shops and restaurants.
In the surrounding area there are also facilities for riding, quad biking and paragliding and the provinces of Macerata and Ascoli provide countless opportunities for immersing oneself in the culture and cuisine that makes Marche a prized region of Italy.
Whether it be open air summer sagras providing the sites, sounds and tastes, or the provincial capitals of Ascoli Piceno and Macerata, with their famous marble piazzas and open air summer opera, this part of Marche is truly unique and intoxicating.
The Adriatic's many beaches are only 45 minutes away by car and offer a variety of pebbles, sand, beach bars and safe bathing. A half hour to the north is the Conero Riviera with its private coved beaches and fine seafood restaurants.
