This historic residence dates from 1600 and is perched at the top of the peaceful medieval town of Cossignano at a height of 400m. It can be booked in its entirety or individual rooms can be offered independently on a bed and breakfast basis.
The village offers spectacular views of the Apennines as far as the neighbouring region of Abruzzo yet by car the sea is only 20 minutes away, with this stretch of the Adriatic offering a mixture of wonderful sand and pebble beaches and pretty Italian seaside resorts such as San Benedetto del Tronto and Grottammare.
For mountain walks and stunning scenery head to the Monti Sibillini National Park just half an hour's drive away.
The beautiful provincial capital of Ascoli Piceno, offering a richness of art and history in equal measure and a unique piazza constructed entirely in marble, is only a short drive away. And even closer is the atmospheric and beautiful town of Offida, famous for its handmade lace and to this day home to scenes of ladies making garments from the material whilst sat outside their homes. The town is also home to a famous wine tasting centre.
And Palazzo Fassitelli is the perfect place to return to after a day out, complete with its original ceiling frescos and elegant Baroque and turn of the century furniture.
The property itself looks across the small square to the beautiful church of Santa Maria Assunta and the bedrooms have lovely sea views.
Fassitelli's owners are also happy to offer guests a guided tour of their vineyard, orchard and olive grove.
